The Staging Event...5.4.3.2

This is the part of the Peace Corps process that comes after you've been 1. interviewed 2. cleared 3. invited ( see the big blue packet) 4. Completed all the necessary paper work inside the big blue packet then you get the STAGING.

Staging in essence is just the orientation schedule.

I Arrive to King of Prussia, Pennsylvania  Thursday September 22nd sometime in the morning perhaps-must call SATO TRAVEL to obtain my ticket.

12:00 Register for staging (there is a form in the big blue packet that has your registration form)

2:00- 4:25 do something called " Who we Are" and " What's expected of you" OR THIS IS WHAT IT IS, LEAVE NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE.

4:25-4:45 Break or for me- Call everyone from home and tell them I'll miss them one last time-check to see if my parents picked my sister up from new york and see if MY GUY is in the vicinity, then smile and wave to everyone and try hard to break out of my shell.

4:45-7:00pm rejoin to cover topics such as " What you expect" , " What's next", " Closing"

7:00pm enjoy my last night in America with my family and my guy Scrivens-and get all but 10% of my tears out of my system.

The next day 8am sharp-I check out of the hotel and proceed to JFK. Cry the remaining 10% of my tears and board a shuttle bus to JFK.

From there my itinerary is such

FRIDAY FLY OUT OF JFK ~> 10 HR FLIGHT TO ISTANBUL (yes!) LEAVE ISTANBUL ~> 3 HR FLIGHT TO THE CAPITAL : BAKU, AZERBAIJAN.

I'll be praying silently and asking God for a bunch of stuff -pinching myself and letting off mini joyous screams of 10 years and counting of wanting to do this SO BADLY! whew!

You're going to do great, I know you will! You will probably cry a lot less than you think you will... it's the first week you're in the country when you're jet lagged, culture shocked, and the fun of trying new things starts to wear off... just stick with it. Email me if you need anything, and good luck! Just be open to making friends that aren't the usual kind in PC... some of my best friends in the world were people I never would have given a chance for our friendship to start in the US. Good luck!!
